We paid the K1 visa fee at the bank in Lagos and have the payment receipt. On the http://www.ustraveldocs.com site is there a way to login just to look at the K1 interview dates that are currently open? I don't know if we will be required to choose a date if we login and we just want to see what dates they're working on right now. There is an upcoming burial ceremony in the family in August and we can't make an appointment before that but don't know if maybe they are already taking September appointments. I know there's a link to check interview dates but it's asking us to create a profile and log in and I've been hesitant because I don't know if it will make us choose a date right then and there if we do.

The email from Lagos said to schedule an appointment under immigration visas and when I was at the site looking around the instructions said you had to fill out a ds-160 before you can schedule an interview. Is that right? Thanks.

Not sure if this is country specific or not. So I'm sorry if I posted wrong.

Yes,you fill out the DS160 first and print confirmation at end. Make your profile ,input all information (including where you will pick up your visa) , go through until calender of dates is shown.When you are here you can simply view dates ,you don't have to select a date.You are able to Log out at this stage without selecting a date.Good luck.

Aww, thanks Dwheels, but I just know a little bit and keep learning everyday. Case and point, I just learned that K1's only need DS-156 and DS156K. So the DS-160 is not needed for Lagos K1's.

"INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR FIANCÉ/FIANCÉE VISA APPLICANTS

(a) Fill out and sign two copies of the enclosed DS-156 Visa Application;
(b) Fill out but do not sign the DS-156K Non-Immigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application"
