Be honest with profession?:(

Hello all. Just want to ask if i should be honest in answering bout my profession? Should i be affirmative that i am recently working as a nurse? And after marriage i also intend to work as a nurse in Us? This also goes in anwering my ds-156 and ds 230 form. Im just preparing for my upcoming interview this july and i wonder if ever il answer them honestly i will get denied.

Why ever even consider lying about anything especially when it comes to immigration where the penalties are so serious? Don't do it about this or any subject.

What Ratty said. Also, isn't nursing one of those coveted professions as far as immigration goes? I think it is one of the preferred trades up here...I could be wrong though.

Not since the recession hit, except maybe if you're a highly experienced RN in a niche specialty like NICU or transplant. Or willing to work in small town, ND.

Newest numbers are upwards of 50% unemployment for US new grad RNs in places like CA and NYC.

I'm imagining that the OP is worried because a lot of people try to get J visas for nursing, since in most of the country there actually is a shortage of RNs. That being said, everyone is correct, you should never lie and misrepresent yourself or your intentions to the US government. The consequences are a non-waiverable lifetime ban.

Unless your profession is dealing illegal drugs to children, professional assassin, or a terrifying clown...I can't see having a profession as being a bad. I mean come on, don't they want productive members of society?

Just make sure you tell them you plan to look for work AFTER you get your work approval documents (sorry i cant remember what its really called)
