Hi guys,

I just realised today that my fiancé has filled out the wrong affidavit of support.

My interview is on Monday next week and I have in my hands the I-864.

He was meant to fill out the I-134 right?

Will the Embassy accept I-864 or do we need to hurry and get form I-134 done asap?

Can he send it to me through email?

yes he was supposed to fill out the 134

I am not sure if the embassy will accept the other one, you can try an email to the embassy, but by the time they respond, you will most likely have received the correct aos form from your husband

Yes, he needs to fill out the I-134. He cannot email it to you, it needs to be an original signature on the document.

AOS has two different meanings.

AOS = affidavit of support

AOS = adjustment if status

You asked about the affidavit if support, and Stevie used "AOS form" in context with the affidavit of support.

Just lettin you know you should read for context when you see AOS in a post.

No worries. It's all part if the learning curve when you approach US immigration on a do-it-yourself (DIY) basis.

Yup, still getting used to all of this even if I have been doing it for months!

I think by the end of it, I could be a lawyer myself!

With London, I have known them to accept an email version for someone with the same issue. They could make the exception for you. Calling or emailing the embassy is a waste of time for this. But to be sure you have it, expensive mail service is the safest bet.

Thanks, my fiance is busy filling out the forms and getting them signed ready to post this afternoon, I know that doesn't leave much time but we can only hope it gets here by Saturday at the latest. I'll have him scan the forms and send those to me too just in case.

Wish I could enjoy the wait until my interview instead of panicking that we wont have everything done on time... men are hopeless with paperwork.... dead.gif

I have done pretty much all the paperwork for this visa, I've done all the research etc. I ask him to do 1 thing and he does it wrong- but its MY fault that he made the mistake for not keeping an eye on him enough! (Baring in mind I spent months and months reminding him of what he needed to do) He's definitely getting told off when I come home. ranting33va.gif

Same situation here, but I double checked everything with him before he sent the affidavid of support package to me, just to make sure there won't be any problems. tbh, his mom, who is the cosponsor, was far more involved than he was. He did warned me before, that he was terrible at homework in school when he was young. That was my first clue :P

My husband has no clue how he got to American and became a US citizen. Our new neighbor has been a permanent resident from Zambia for most of her life. She asked him if he would help her apply for naturalizationsi since he did it last year. "Duh......ummm...ask my wife. She'll fix you up.". Hahaha.

I think it kinda rolls in one ear and out the other with the partner who isn't deeply immersed in it. All the acronyms and form numbers are a blur.
