Looking to get a calling plan for just one month while we go through all the final requirements. So far looks like Vonage has a good plan? Anyone with any help to which is the best company/plan to use?

Thanks

We've used this plan for over a year when Mike was still in the Philippines. $25 for unlimited calls, could only make calls to Globe numbers though

Someone recently suggested Google Talk as a good option. Haven't tried it myself though.

The problem with Vonage is you will have equipment to buy and set up fees. For only one month a standard international calling card would be a better bet.

Does that work from cell phone to cell phone?

Vonage's plan is the same, only to globe. I don't have a house phone, looks like I might have to get one...thanks

$25? How come I pay $39 every month now? haha price went up maybe? Vonage seems a good plan for unlimited calling to Philippines and I do call Japan a lot too for free.

We use to have 500 mins international calling from sprint but we switch over to Vonage since 500 mins is not that much for me.

We use Google Voice, no special phone plans, they charge .11/min to call a landline and .15 to call a cell phone. No monthly fees just the minute charges. Use our house phone or our cell phone.

Sorry to say she has no internet access. I would need to call directly to her cell phone

Ya know I tried the new magic jack plus, two of them in fact, with the intent of bringing one to the Phils for making call back and forth, I finally returned them both as they would never work. I still have the old magic jack somewhere... not using that either.

Luckily I tripped over the OBI and took one of those to the Phils, and next trip I will be bring a few more for a few of the aunts and uncles. Sound quality is lights years ahead of what I ever got from the MJ. Heck I can even do firmware updates on the unit in the Phils from here without issue. After having the OBI you couldn't pay to use the MJ.

Take a look at the google voice international calling. You can call a landline or cell phone in the phils. Plus you can use it with your home phone or cell phone here.

Yes, I've used my Tmobile to call his Globe number. They'll give you an access # to call and no PIN to use

I don't know but that link seems up-to-date and it says $25 per month

I have used the Globe Duo International for quite a while. A Globe SIM card is only a few dollars and it is unlimited calling. One monthly fee and no time limits. They give you a U.S. number to call and a email stating your U.S. number so you can highlight the calls you made to your fiancee for evidence of ongoing relationship. No intnet needed. She can give you a missed call and you just call her back.
