So....I went online to check the status of our visa...and come to find out it is in Administrative Processing!! Why?? I have noooooo idea!!! Everything went so well at the interview, the IO told us that we were approved, gave us the green slip to pay domex, and said nothing else!!! He stayed with all his (Fiance) documents and did not ask for any paper or evidence other than the necessary (which I made sure of). I found this out yesterday, so I called NVC today to verify if the information on the website was accurate, and a very polite woman told me that yes indeed it was in AP. The only information that she told me was that they were not asking for extra documents or evidence. At this time all I can do is wait for an answer, and she didn't give me a time frame either. She did say I can call everyday to check. What can they be possibly checking?

I am so sad, b/c I was hoping for my man to go home with me, since I am having surgery this week :( I know some of you have been in this situation and/or is still in this situation. Can anyone share some info that I am not aware of? Thank you once again guys....

If the officer told you that you were approved then you must be approved. Send an email or inquiry to the embassy. Ask them what is going on. Pray pray and pray! that everything is alright. I'm sure they just put AP so that they can finish processing your information in the system. Hopefully it will only be a few days. Every one that I have read, if the CO says approved then you should be fine. Don't sweat it, maybe they are just verifying some documents or certificates and list AP until they can print the visa. it's only been a few days, My fiance and I were put on AP and luckily it only lasted i believe a month. I cried my eyes out. Don't stress it, just pray and I'm sure you'll be fine. It's probably just saying that until the CO submits everything and sends it all off to be printed.

Sorry to hear that you are in AP. Who knows what or why, it could be something simple and may only take a few weeks for them to sort it out. Since they did tell you that you were approved at the interview I don't think you will be in AP for that long. I suggest sending an email to the Embassy just to see what they say. Although they are not going to tell you what you are in AP for or how long it will actually last.

Call the embassy. Admin processing is just a general term used in the immigration field.....it can mean anything. When my case was denied. In my first interview i asked DOS for update on my case and they said it was undergoing admin process. Everytime i called they would say that. I asked y they kept saying that if my case was being returned and they said that thats what the have to say until the case is resolved. Just recently when my case was in NVC, after being reaffirmed, and they forward it to DR i called DOS for updates and they said ...its undergoing admin process. So dont worry kerida mia....it might be something minor and usually if it is in AP they usually tell you when they approve you....sometimes they even tell u why (like a medical result was missing). Call them mija.....suerte : )

Thank you guys!! I will email the embassy tomorrow. I leave back to FL Wednesday, with sadness in my heart, but thanks to the information given to me by you all, I will leave with peace in my heart, and faith that the heavenly father has this situation in his hands. I will let everyone know as soon as I get a response.

Wow, I am trully sorry to hear that you have been on AP for quite some time. I am sure that you have called, but have they said why?? Seems to me that your interview went as smooth as mine or better. Did you email them? It has not even been a week and I am so sad. I can't imagine how you feel. Did they give you a time frame?

221g is soft denial, and they were askin for some missing docs from us....My hubby, fiancee then used to call the NVC and asked about our case and why we were under AP , though we already submitted the docs needed, and the NVC rep told him that all we need to do is wait for the news from the USEM in Bangkok...and after 3 days...I received my passport....one question...did the Consul keep your passport? if they do keep, might be that they are just doin some name checks....

Does anyone know how to get the passport back in such situation? I wouldn't want to be grounded like that for more than a week without the ability to travel.
