Residences over past 5 years for G-325A

My foreign fiance has been working in China for the past 5 years and when he first arrived, he lived with family. As a foreigner in China, you must register your residence with the police department. The apartment where he was living already had the limit to the number of people who could register at that address, so one of his colleagues allowed him to register at his residence. However, my fiance lived with family (and not where he registered as living). For the G-325A, can he just include his actual residence on the form or does he need to report the address where he was registered as living? I very much appreciate the advice.

To the US, it doesn't matter where he lived in China.

The main question is should he be honest on the immigration form for the US or should he lie to the US government about where he has been living.

Up to you to decide what to put down on the form. But remember the US only cares when you lie to them. The US does not care that he lied to China. If he wants to lie to the US, then he can suffer the consequences. I suggest you put down the truth.

Thank you very much for your quick response. My plan is for him to put his actual residence (not the one he registered at), but I was just worried that it could also be an issue. Would it be preferable for me to explain what he did?
