Hi - I am confused as to which forms need to be completed prior to my interview at London.

I want to be cracking on with things so there is no delay once we get the LND number from the NVC.

So on the emabsssy website is says I have to complete the following: DS 230 (just looks like the same info as the form we have already completed and sent to USCIS??!!)

DS-156.

DS 2001 (readiness for interview)

When exactly do I mail these to the embassy?

Confused....!

You are going to repeat information over and over in this process. This is no longer USCIS. The Dept of State needs more information from the beneficiary before a visa will be granted.

Try reading this post where "packet 3" is spelled out for you in the UK forum and see if it helps http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/?p=5137390

The timing is talked about after the red writing.

Also scroll back to post #1 in that thread to see other things you can prepare in advance for London.

That's great- thanks.

But when exactly do I send these to the Embassy? Do I need to wait until they inform me that they have received my file or can I pre-empt?

Did you read that link? I bolded the two sentences below that apply from the explanation

There is no "packet". That's old talk. Your instructions and forms are posted on the London website. You can start working on the forms at any time. London will send a letter to the UK beneficiary when they have received your file and are ready for you to apply for the visa. That letter will tell you to go to the website.

Here's where you start Instructions for Immigrant Visa (K) Applicants Applying for a Visa in London.

The forms are on the right. If you filled them in early, then you can post them off to London the day you get the letter. Don't send them before London has your case.

If you want to send to London before they even know a thing about you or that you have an approved petition or they have logged your case as eligible to apply for a visa, then just do it. They have a plan and order to do it the way that is most efficient for them because they issue a hundred visas a day. Don't follow their plan at your own risk and hope your forms make it to the folder when they set up your file.
