Hi, everyone! My hubby filed two concurrent petitions for 1-130 for me and my son. Though we haven't received any reply yet, we want to prepare our documents for the next step. I have several questions for D-230. Hope to get your insights on these:-)

1. Since we are filing I-130 for my son, should we also prepare D-230 for him? If yes, who signs the form on page 2?

2. Can we answer "unknown" for Question No. 10 as we still do not know where our permanent address in the US will be? My husband (petitioner) lives with me in the Phils. and we see no reason why we have to maintain an apartment while we are here and that's just an additional expense for us. We are hoping to leave for US together once our visas are granted and will decide then where we will have our permanent residence.

3. On Question 30 for places of residence since 16 y.o. Does it have to be the complete address? I notice it only asks for City, Province and Country?

4. Questions 32 and 33, does the location there for employer for the last 10 years and schools attended ask for specific addresses too?

Thank you so much for taking time to answer all the above questions.

Good luck to all of us here on VJ!

Yes, every applicant must have his/her own DS-230 form. The immigrating parent can sign the child's DS-230.

It's important you write a US address because that's where they will mail in your Green Cards and SSN cards. When you move to the US, where are you going to stay? If in a relative's house, write that address.

3. On Question 30 for places of residence since 16 y.o. Does it have to be the complete address? I notice it only asks for City, Province and Country? Just put city, province, country.

4. Questions 32 and 33, does the location there for employer for the last 10 years and schools attended ask for specific addresses too? For employer, complete address. For schools attended, you can write the city, province, country.

Thank you so much for taking time to answer all the above questions.

Good luck to all of us here on VJ!
