Medical exam

hello everyone!!! my fiance FINALLY got his passport today and went straight to Dr. Buteau to set his appointment for the medical exam. They took his passport and his photo that he brought with him. He paid them $300 US for the exam and they told him to come back tomorrow morning at 7am for his exam. But they didnt give him a reciept for the $300 he paid them and they kept his passport until tomorrow. Does that sound ok to do? Now im worried because what if they say we didnt pay and they make us pay agian. he asked for a receipt but they told him they dont give reciepts for this. what if they lose the pasport? wow we wiated on this passport for 5 months.. now im worried

any advice would be great

Don't worry. It's common in Haiti--the no receipt thing. Dr. Buteau's office is a well known office who's gone through this process a lot of times. They won't lose his passport and it is probably already recorded in his files that he's paid.

ok thanks!! and thanks again for all your help! do you know how long it takes to get tHe interview once he sends everything into Haiti messenger? im so excited we are finally gettig close and hopefully not more hold ups with paper work and its snooth sailing from here!!

It shouldn't take long. Someone got their letter in a week and the interview was set for the following week. So it seems to be moving pretty fast now. Mine took a bit longer because it was during a lot of Holidays in Haiti. Good luck!
