Okay, I'm new here. I will work on my profile/timeline. But a quick question: I've filed an I-129F. The California service center reports 5 1/2 months . Does that refer to time to clear the California Office or does that estimate include the in-country consulate process in Brasil? Any help is appreciated. Ron

It's just the service centre processing time estimate. Add on a couple more months for local consulate processing.

Our K1-visa went really fast. We got the interview, his approval, his biometrics, his combo card within one year. At that time, the processing times for the green card showed about a 4 month waiting period. We got the combo card and social security card in August of 2012. We have heard NOTHING since and the processing times for AOS I-485 show estimated 18 months' waiting. We will need to apply for an extension on the combo card and his passport will need to be renewed in 2014. Is there any reason for this big jump from a 4 month waiting period until an 18 month? Has there been an influx of applications for AOS?

Thanks for the response and best to all those waiting.
