Feh. We had riflery as a sport at my high school. It was what the archery dorks did during the winter session. If you were made of tougher stuff, you played ice hockey, both boys and girls. Never been in greater shape than the three seasons I played hockey.

Russian Students also typically smoke their American counter parts scholastically.

Seriously, there may come a time when we cannot outspend our enemy in warfare.

When was the last time we fought a war where we did not dwarf our enemy in means of production?

As our Manufacturing slips away, we soon will not even be able to provide material to run a real war.

Then again in 40 years warfare might consist of drones and internet viruses.

i'm not sure what you're getting at, but the u.s. ranks pretty low with the rest of the world, not just russia, when it comes to education. what good is it to teach how to disassemble a gun in less than 30 seconds when they can't read and apply the damn directions?

I'd hazard to say that 10-15 minutes learning how to put on a condom is more useful than learning how to faff about with guns.
