We were in AP for about 40 days when I contacted the senator and asked for help. The senator contacted embassy and got the same boring response about the case being in administrative processing and to wait. Our senator was proactive and contacted the Department of State and was able to get answers. SO I guess anyone talking with a senator might ask them to check with DOS along with embassy on the case status.

What state is it? Our senator office doesn't even return calls. How should I proceed with senator?

I wrote a one page email telling them how I am citizen of usa and all the frustration and pain I am feeling do to immigration process. That while I don't mind waiting, i just want an explanation as to why, whats going on. Why when I have no done anything wrong, this is happening. I recieved a reply within 2 days from senator office, they called me.

First you should find out who your senators are and then you can search online for contact information.

I have a question also. How long should you wait before contacting your senator? I was told most cases are resolved in 60 days. Should I wait till the 60 days have passed?

Could you explain why the DOS was able to provide this info to a senator and not you? Is this something they will give other members of governement. I have been in AP for 41 days now.
