I am only on my second month of waiting and I am getting frustrated each day that passes. K1 process used to be only 3-6 months wait. It only took them couple days to cash our check, why are they taking this long to approve each one of us. How hard would it be to complete an application. I just don't get it. I got my citizenship approved in less than 2 months when their estimated process time was 6 months. Why can't they do the same with K1.

If I'm not mistaken, US is issuing around 9 000 000 visas a year. Ours is just one of many and, unfortunately, lower prioritized than other ones. I wish this process was fully electronic with as minimal human factor as possible, but we are not there yet. Also, officers in the Service Centers play Angry Birds all day long :innocent:

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process to USCIS Service Centers forum -- topic involves processing times for all I-129F petitions. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Well my fiance is aboard a cruise ship and skype is not available, we do text and he calls me everyday because I can't call him and we only see each other thru skype when he's in Sydney, Australia, since my visit last August, we only saw each other thru skype I think 3 times :(.

I would imagine that's what they do everyday with the rate that they are going :)

Did you go through the Seattle office for your citizenship? That's where Chinook went. It was great because they offer same-day swearing in.

They speed up and slow down like a car in and out of a traffic jam. As Mr Smiley said, stay busy and get to know each other better on skype. Ours took 208 days so I know what most are going through. Read and learn your next steps and enjoy this journey. We prepared ourselves for any length of time as we cannot control USICS. Good luck!

I sent in my I129F on 02/11/2013 went from Texas to Vermont in less then a week NA01 on 02/19/2013 and 02/25/13 back round check started . I am quite pleased with there performance thus far . Let them play all they want with Angry Birds as long as they process my K1 in a timely matter . I am confident with the paperwork I sent in and this site gets a lot of credit for that . I am sure they are under pressure to increase the performance and they are working hard to do so . From what I heard Vermont is getting a lot better then California . I am taking my situation and knowing that God will provide gives me patients enough to endure this process . I however do not listen to some who discourage on this site about long lengths and failing USCIS centers . I am sure there are long waits for some , but without knowing there full situation how can you apply that to yours ? The timeline is great , but I hardly go by it . I will only encourage and say to you have faith and patients your time will come soon . Wake up each day knowing you are getting closer and closer to being reunited with your loved one .
