Good luck and hang in there, we are all trying to do the same :)

I called CSC and was advised to wait another 2 months which will put me at 8 months wait ... What do i need to do? should i consider contacting senator? I know many people are on the same boat but i really need to step up and do something

Hello there i know some people are saying theres nothing you can do but wait, however thats not always the truth i just found out that some times your case has been approved but because of glicthes or miscommunication you dont get the notice or an update...ive been approved since last year december but only found out about it on tuesday the 5....after i got a notice they are about to destroy my document so dont just sit and wait keep writing letters and submit request as often as you can....they are humans just like us and make mistakes too.

You need to wait. Not until you're at about 10-12 months out would I call out the troops.

Don't listen to this poster. 10 to 12 months??? Seriously? We need to put more pressure on USCIS to process these cases timely. The K1 visa was set up to NOT endure long wait times. They are failing at their mission and should be held to account. If more people would do this, maybe they wouldn't act the way they do. Contact as soon as is sensible (I am calling at 5 months, regardless of what their "current processing times are"... they told me 5 months when I started). Depending on the runaround I get then, I will be contacting my congress critters and the USCIS ombudsman's office. Now, I may look at the current processing times before I pull that particular trigger, but I may not, depending on how unreasonable this is. Heck, I even think 5 months is unreasonable, given the reason for the the K1 and K3 visa program.

sorry, but 10-12 months sounds exaggerated. I would say call when your representative once you reach 7-8 months. That's the processing time they're giving anyway on their website. Hang in there, soon this whole nightmare will be over! :)

I am around 200 days since the NOA1. This is my first time on VJ and to be honest its been a relief knowing there are others out there waiting for the exact same thing as I am and just as frustrated as I am too. Though I don't like the wait, it is quite comforting to know I'm not alone on this, but I would still want the visa within the expected 1 year as is from what I read the common time frame.

Actually for a September filer, 10-12 months is about right if CSC stays at the same rate they have been processing for the last few months.

But unacceptable.

Your fee dollars at work

And if you look at the respective CSC and VSC charts on Igor's list, VSC August and September approvals have surpassed CSC July and August approvals...that is, if you believe VJ timeline data is a reasonable data sample of the population
