Hi All,

I need some help in regards to the visa interview. My wife who resides in US receievd letter from USCIS today stating that she has an interview next week. I live in Dubai and will not be attending the interview. Could someone please tell me what type of questions they will ask my wife and what documents should she take with her to the interview? This interview is prior to acceptance of I-130/NOA2. Can they refuse our I-130 application? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry I didn't get your question ? If you meant why my wife is being interviewed I am not sure. Well she spoke to one of the representatives at USCIS and she was told that atfter this interview they may or may not approve I-130

So your wife is the petitioner. They probally just want to verify some information that she sent in for you. She must take what info she has to the interview. Its just probally a routine interview to approve the I-130.

Sorry I understood your question. I think the reason could be my background I am Pakistani, my wife is American and she is a convert( became muslim 2 years ago) and we got married in London and now I am working and living in Dubai so do you think it could be all that ?

Can they refuse our I-130 application?

This is only semantics but an I-130 is not an application form, it's a petition form.

Sorry about cretaing multiple posts. Do you have any idea what they would ask in the interview. Because my wife will be interviewed and this interview is before the approval of I-130 Petition(NOA2. Is this a standard procedure.

These interviews happen from time to time. Usually they happen because of something of concern in the case that causes them to want to interview the US Citizen petitioner. They'll ask about the red flags in your case or potentially the US Citizen's past dealings with immigration, if applicable. Yes, they can "deny" the petition. She should take with her, anything immigration related and take any evidence to support the relationship being genuine, then be prepared to answer any and all questions about, you, the relationship and her own past.

Well me and my wife got married in july last year and she is mexican american but a revert muslim and I am pakistani and when she filed the petition i was in london but I was offered a job in dubai so now I am living and working in Dubai. Could my nationality or her being a revert is one of the reasons for this interview?

Could be anything relevant to your case. Did your wife immigrate from Mexico or was she born in the USA?

She should prepare as I indicated in my first post. You're married. She certainly knows about her own past and should know everything about you, a spouse would know about their husband.

This is more and more common these days, especially with cases processed at the local offices. Your wife should take with her a copy of the packet sent in, and any new bonafide relationship evidence she has. Usually these interviews don't last long, go over the paperwork, look at some bonafides, ask some questions regarding the relationship and question any red flags.

There is no need to start a new thread to ask the same question a second time. In fact, it's quite rude. If you don't like the answers you're being given, I suggest you change your thinking or ask a different question.
