Supporting documents can be copies, the I-134 should be an original signed form.

Here is what I did for the I-134 form. I got a transcript from the IRS for the last three years of tax returns, this is usually a page or two, it is accepted by the Embassy and is far less copying and it is simpler for them to get the line they want to see. I made copies of all the documents at least three. I then noterized the original, I kept a copy of all, then sent the originals and two copies to my fiancee, By the way, MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING. What the Embassy wants is usually different for each Embassy, but you can not go wrong by noterizing the original, it lends credibility to the document. Oh did I mention, MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING. Also when you send a copy of your passport, don't forget any visas that you may have to enter or exit the country in question, which may be a moot point for Canada, but I am being generic.

Good luck and be happy

Sorry I forgot to say that She got the visa in a 15 minute interview, with no more verification needed.

Please explain how "noterizing" lends credibility.... I am curious.....

So am I, the only thing that needs to be notarized is the signature at the bottom of the I-134 form, the act of notarizing is to have a legal whiteness (The Notary) to confirm the identity of the person signing the form.
