Hi Guys, I have a question, I am working now and I am having second thoughts of resigning... until I get my visa approved... you think its a factor to get an approval if they'll know I am employed? plus the form we have submitted shows that I am employed now. I I resigned right before the interview,.... will it matter? You think it will affect the decision somehow?

You think they even care about it?

If you are the petitioner, then your income changes. This means, you need to update the I-864.

Depending on your circumstances or you get a picky CO, it could be a problem.

Just wait until the immigration visa issues before you change jobs. Take the safer route. It's not worth risking the visa if you can help it.

Hi Crakzor, so you mean if Im the beneficiary..... they wont care?

It shouldn't matter if you are the beneficiary. The important part is that the US petitioner has a job. You'll just say at the interview you just quit. If they ask why you'll explain.

You are probably not the first to do this...

Good luck in your visa journey!

From the day we sent I-129F to the day I recieved my K-1: Exactly 9 months

^^^ Current sustained income falls below poverty guidelines. In cases like this, the Embassy won't deny the visa. They will issue the visa applicant a form 221g which gives the petitioner and beneficiary one year to correct the problem.

For an outright denial, probably one of the leading causes is that the Embassy does not believe the couple has a bona fide relationship.
