Adoption of a family member

HI Everyone!!!! I just have a question, My husband and i he currently has his ten year green card and we are applying for citizenship in summer, we are looking into adopting his neice from India she is 5 years old, we can provide for her more then she can get right now. I dont know where to look for help or advice. So any comments or advice is appreciated.

If her parents are living , you could adopt her but it is VERY hard ( read impossible) to bring a child with living parents to the US because laws prevent adopting relatives to avoid immigration limits

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
