The do as we say, most certainly not as we do party struck again, and this level hypocrisy might just shift the tectonic plates and reveal a whole new world for the rational among us (or whatever is left).

Rep. Kip Smith, the Georgian Republican sponsor of Georgia House Bill 464, which would "require random drug testing" for citizens on public assistance, found himself drunker than Lindsey Lohan (only ugly and with no talent) and apparently was arrested friday morning on a DUI.

I love when things like this happen. :lol: Almost as funny when a strictly anti-gay politician comes out and ends up having a boyfriend on the side. Or someone who preaches about "traditional family values" has a mistress. Good times.

He used his own hard earned money to buy the alcohol. It's not like he used welfare so therefore it is a justifiable DUI

Somone comes up with a great idea....

"Hey I know.... if people are living off the public we should make sure they are not buying illegal stuff to smoke."

"Great idea dude, here let me by you one"

What do you mean buy me one....fill=up the tank!"

=================================

The question is.... did he get drunk on his own pay or via food stamps traded in?

He's receiving public funds, no?

For doing a job. His job performance is another issue, but nontheless he is still being paid for doing a job.

Not when you're driving and you're over the legal limit. Being over the legal limit is, by definition, illegal.

Are welfare recipients being denied their benefits for having a DWI on their record? If so, then it's related, otherwise it's not.

ETA:

Or for that matter, are welfare benefits denied due to having any criminal record?

It's like saying "Florida Democrat that supported the VAWA act, gets arrested for shoplifting" What does supporting VAWA have to do with it?

It's not related to welfare. A drug abuser who want's other's tested for drug abuse is a hypocrite. It's worth pointing out just for that fact.

If it's not related to welfare, then why is this thread here? Welfare is clearly in the thread title.
