My fiance cannot help me to move(not allow to cross the border, rehabilitation papers is on process) . I will move using my small car, so I cannot take all my stuff with me. Then after, I get my AP we will go back to canada to get all my belongings, thats the plan. . I read something at some point that said we have up to 10 years to move all of our belongings duty-free. There are other additional details about importing your car which you should look into though as you will need paperwork to do that. There are previous posts in the Canada forum about this so I suggest doing so research.

can your small car take a trailer hitch? if so, i'd opt to get one installed, and haul a trailer behind.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I POE'd in August with my (then) fiancé. We had a mini-van full of boxes with clothes and other small kitchen things. Was brought into secondary, processed, they never asked anything about the boxes in the van. A couple of months after, someone else brought the rest of my things down (there are papers to fill out when goods are unaccompanied) - without a problem. None at all. I moved my things in two different trips, months apart, and everything was fine.

Check with the CBP if you're worried.

Yes one does have up to 10 yrs to bring ur stuff in duty free

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I have been bringing stuff from home since my move in September 2011. Everytime I go back to Canada, I bring more back. It has never ben an issue...I just say that I am bringing personal belongings that I couldn't fit in the truck when I first moved down. I have always just been waved through (this is at the Peace Bridge).
