For all those vjers from manila area who got their visa. How many days from the date of interview before u received ur passport with visa stamp? Thanks

Has your visa been printed yet? Sometimes you can get your visa printed on the same day as your interview, other times it can take a few days (or longer if there is something odd with your paperwork). Once it is printed it will take a few days to get handed over to 2Go. I think the average is around three or four working days.

They say don't book the flight until you have visa in hand. most likely, you will have your visa in less that two weeks, but if there is a glitch, it could be several weeks or months. Remember, your fiancee still has to plan her despedida party.

Do not plan any flights until you have your visa in hand. For one thing, you can often get a discounted one way ticket for first time immigrants but you will need to present your visa when you book the flight. In addition you may run across simple bureaucratic issues with the printing of the visa and it can sometimes take more time than expected.

The immigrant visa stamp is needed to avail of the 1st-time immigrant discount. I had my interview last Friday, Jan 4, got the visa packet yesterday, Thursday, Jan 10. Then booked my flight today, availed of the discount - it's a big help!

I won't be leaving soon because I will still be attending my hubby's sister's wedding here in the Philippines. Impractical to fly there now and go back again for the wedding.

I got my EVA Air ticket at $573, inclusive of taxes, booked via a travel agent. If I were to book online, through the EVA Air's website, it would be $878.

Flying from Manila. :)

Michelle's interview was on the 3rd. The visa was printed on the the 9th and was received by 2GO at the Mall of Asia on the evening of the 11th. We'll be flying home to the US on the 16th. Waiting for the visa to avail of the immigrant discount saved us ~$100. It was not much but it was a bonus none the less.
