I'm wondering if there are any of you also trying to conceive while waiting for the immigration paperwork to come through?

Or those of you who are already pregnant?

Yes, but it's difficult when you only see each other every few months!

Yes, that must be super hard!

I just found out that my cousin who recently immigrated to America, is 12 weeks pregnant, and two of my friends recently announced that they are around that far along too. Can I admit that I am a little jealous?

The husband really wants us to get pregnant this month, so that isn't helping.

My wife and I are trying for twins. She's over 40, and we've had to cross-train the baby doctor in Wuhan with a fertility specialist (who happens to be PRC ) in Dallas. It's been fun, but finally she understands about bringing multiple eggs into the right place, and scientific methods of fertilization.

We've had a few dry runs, but after Chinese New Year, we're trying again...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Not during the process.

Given that I really don't stay in one country for a long time, I've decided it would be best to wait until later this year.

I kinda of want to aim for NOT having it during the summer either.

I hated having my bday during summer since my friends could never decorate my locker =[

Not to mention, when I was littler, hard to hand out invites to my class.

Also, would like to plan around slow season at work.

So, while my child may feel gypped, i'm aiming for december.

So I guess that will be december 2014. lol.

But I just went off my BC since i've been on it for 12 years and my doctor says it will take a while anyways.

I think that should all coincide.

And if it happens before then, well, whatever.

Tim Gun says MAKE IT WORK.

Grass is always greener KDH, I hated having a January birthday because it was always too close to Christmas and I had birthdays cancelled due to big snowstorms.

If I don't get preggers this month - next month will give me another Scorpio and I don't know if I can handle being in a house with 3 of them.

I honestly wouldn't care when I had my child, I would just feel so very blessed. I mean, yeah, I would love to be debt free, with my dream house, lottery winnings in the bank etc etc...but what is life without a few challenges thrown in!

I believe the saying is that if you wait until you are financially ready to have a child, you will never be ready to have a child. lmao

I mean obviously there are some people that are ABSOLUTELY not financially ready, but people that make a regular income like myself, will probably never feel satisfied in that dept.

Rich people don't count. Go away with your richness.

Oh, I wish that decision were easy... Given that I'm in my late 20's and want to have at least 2 kids, that doesn't give me a whole lot of time. On the flip side, I know having kids will severely reduce quility time with my husband. Which has been nearly nonexistant for the entire 6 years of our marriage, with me in the US and him in India. Phone calls just don't cut it.

I dunno. It's a connundrum. I tend to lean towards wanting to start soon... just not until after he comes back. Don't want to go through that alone. He seems to think we can wait 20 years and be fine. It's times like that I want to smack him.

Just a few more months, and I can finally work through the long, long list of things I need to smack him for....

Lots of men seem to think you can wait forever. 6 years being apart, wow!! I don't know how you did it. :wow:

Mine is so sure it is going to happen this cycle, like some sort of fortune teller.

We are aiming for 5 total though, with 4 to go on that.

My mother for whatever odd reason decided to continue my private American health insurance for next year on her own dime. Whatever floats her boat, I guess. Not having to going with Medicaid this time around does give a lot more flexibility and hopefully less gross comments from nurses and doctors.

It'll also maybe cover an HBAC, which would be nice.

6 years being apart, wow!! I don't know how you did it.

When you have no other choice... you just kind of go with it. Much like waiting for our NOA2. Despite a few months being drops in a bucket compared to 6 years (actually, almost 7, now that I think of it...) I am still itching for that approval to come through. Sooooo over the waiting thing.

We are aiming for 5 total though, with 4 to go on that.

Omg that's ambitious... On the bright side, as the first one gets older, you can train it to watch the little ones. I was the second oldest out of 6, and spent a lot of my youth changing diapers and feeding that disgusting baby cereal to my little sisters. My older sister liked to pretend the rest of us didn't exist, and my mom liked to watch TV. <_<

Some people seem to find this cruel to the kids that get stuck babysitting, but in hindsight it taught me responsibility at a young age. Better that than being one of those people who leaves home as an adult only to realize they can't wash their own laundry!

We conceived just before we filed for AOS. We did not know at the time. I am due in March.

Congrats!
