My wife wants to put a kareoke/videoke room downstairs. I would like to surprise her with something. I have no idea where to start. I looked at some Magic Mike packages online and they were $500 - 1000. I am not excited about that. Anybody have any reasonable suggestions? Thanks, Robert

Find the Asian Markets in a 100 mile radius around your house. Then start shopping !

Don't like that, you say? Buy used gear on Craigslist, being sure to test before you give money.

It has not caught on very much in the USA, because it is an illegal noise ordinance violation in most jurisdictions. Thank God.

Shenanigans ! Asian Immigrants' USCitizen Spouses are the #1 purchasers for gear in the USA !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Actually, I misspelled it, Karaoke. I read in the travel book about some places not being the best to stay in the Philippines because of the karaoke nearby with the noise from it. I didn't know it existed until I saw my neice singing with it, and it was probably videoke because she had it hooked to the television. ATip: click inside this box to load the editor

We got a wireless/cordless two mike magic sing for $330 on Amazon.com this year for our family Christmas present. Just search for it and they'll pop up with pretty good prices. Works great with our tv and surround system. As for the neighbors, invite them over!!

The magic sing ET9K we purchased through ebay arrived yesterday. 2000 built in songs, but I'm sure we'll be picking up more chips to expand that. While its not the wireless model, it does work very well and we're pretty happy with it. We spent the evening singing songs and trying to get better scores, as neither of us has the best voice. I'm hoping next time we're at a Fil/Am get together, we won't have to feel like we're the worst voices in the crowd

I think it is because in the west we don't enjoy listening to drunkards bellow like caribou that have been fatally mauled by a pack of wild dogs.

Wait a minute.......when did you hear me sing?

Also recommend the Magic Sing 19EV or EK or whatever the dual mic wireless model is. About $300 to $350 in the US, comes with like 2600 songs. We've already added 6 chips to ours. Amazon has a dealer who sells chips for about $35, much cheaper than anywhere else I've seen, and so far all have been great and worked. Just search like Magic Sing Tagalog.

One thing that sucks is that there is a lot of overlap. So you buy a new chip, and you will already have a bunch of those songs, so it's not like you get 'all' new ones every time. We search for a song sometimes only to see that across the built in and six chips we have, there are like four listings for that song! So it's duplicated four times.

Funny thread, I didn't realize that everyone who's fiancé / wife comes from the Philippines also gets a Magic Sing :)

This should probably be added as the middle step between K1 and AOS in the guides "Purchase Magic Sing" :)

I appreciate this information. I have heard about the sing a longs. While substitute teaching in elementary classrooms years ago, I used some of the Disney sing a longs with the little kids in music classes. The history is interesting, from sing a longs, to karaoke/videoke/bideoke, invented by the Japanese, stolen and patented by the Philippinos, really popular in the Philippines, and people from the Philippines bringing it to Western Countries. The sounds like a big circle to me! Thank you for the enlightenment!
