Social Security Card Denied

I am adjusting from K-1. I was previously in the USA on H1-B, therefore, I have a SSN card that says "valid for work only with INS authorization". I needed to renew my old expired driver's license, and the DMV needed proof of a SSN, which I lost when my wallet was stolen, so they instructed me to go to the SS office, and have them print me a copy stating that I had one. I did so, and the SS office instructed me to apply for a new card, and gave me a print out to show the DMV that states "Our records indicate that a SSN XXX-XXX-XXXX is assigned to "tigey". Which the DMV accepted and I was able to renew my old license I had when I was on H1-B. Great. A few weeks later, I recieved a letter from the SS office that states "We cannot issue a SS card at this time because: Your immigration status will expire before an SSN card can be issued to you. I assume they looked at the expiration date on my I-94 as the limitation of my immigration status. I have just received my EAD which is valid until 12/15/13. Should I re-apply for the SSN card? Or is it fine to keep the old Social status that states "valid for work only with INS authorization" The EAD is INS work authorization, and if any company needs proof of my SSN, can I show them the letter from the SS office that states my SSN and name and validates my number? Should I wait until i adjust to permanent resident to re-apply? Thanks!

If you have a valid EAD card then the SS card you have that states auth to work with USCIS auth. will be fine to use.

Since you lost it go to the SS office with the EAD card and have them process you one.

Since you have new EAD card, might as well go back and flash it a few times at the SSA office.
