I'm not too good with Manila demographics but Mike hired a taxi from SM Bicutan in Paranaque to NAIA for 500php. Yours could be less or more

Good luck!

Depending on the type of taxi you use, it could range anywhere from 200Php up to around 600Php would be my estimate

It should just cost around P300-400 at most if you make sure the meter's running. Otherwise, a taxi driver would charge you for a higher price; about P500-700.

Anyone know average Taxi fare from the local Manila airport to the embassy area or Lotus Garden hotel?

Using Tiger Air as airline

Thanks

Depends on the time of day but I would estimate about P300. It's worth it to take the skyway if traffic is heavy on Roxas; minimal toll. Don't let anybody waive you into a cab; go upstairs and get your own. Good luck :)

... suggest you look for the yellow airport taxi ... they are generally cheaper than the other airport taxis ... and most of the time, than the ordinary taxis .... and safer, more convenient too !!!

MGE (green taxi) I find are the best and meter goes on when you get in with no negotiating.

If they dont turn on the meter,

tell them to turn it on,

if they say its broke,

they are almost certainly lying

I suggest you get out and find another taxi.

Its about p300 into the embassy area as others have said.

Don't be suprised if they push you for a tip because there is "traffic"

I have always responded..."its manila, there is traffic everywhere, I will be fair"

the skyway is faster and more direct, toll is p20 which you will need to provide, ask for your change lol.

Remember with the meter, its the same price in all taxi's its regulated assuming no one has tampered with the ticker.

White taxi's are generally 24 hour rentals, sometimes the person driving has no idea where they are going.

If you have no idea how to get there, you may want to negotiate a flat rate liek the p500 mentioned above so you don't get driven around until the meter says p600.

I have lived here for the past 10 months and take taxi's everyday.

As of late many taxis from the airport are charging a flat rate per km, not the standard base P40+P3.5 per 300m/2min that your standard taxi charges. A ride from the airport to Ermita can run you close to P1000 if you don't find a normal metered taxi. If you are lucky and can find a regular metered taxi you shouldn't pay more than P300. What I recommend is to ask if your hotel offers pick-up service as part of your room rate.

p300 or so. As soon as you land, you will be heavily accosted by people trying to get you into their car. Many will offer prices around p600 to p700. I fell for this the first time. Most of the cabs that circle the airport will try and not use their meter, and will set a price at least double what it should be.

If you actually care about saving $7 or $8 bucks, then go to the official taxi area. They will put you in a taxi, write down the taxi number on a piece of paper and give it to you, which is usually enough that taxi drivers there behave. Often they'll try and ask for p50 more 'for traffic'.

Sometimes when I arrive I just hop in the first 'safe' looking vehicle I see, and pay the extra, it's almost nothing, and it's not as if these people are getting rich milking me for a few extra bucks, I can't blame them at all.

We ended up finding a few taxi drivers that we really liked, took their numbers, and would call them most of the time we needed a ride. I paid them well, and it was still cheap for me. Our condo is in a place it isn't always easy to hail a cab, so having a few that we trust and will come and get us was totally worth the extra money to me.

This web site is great

I've successfully completed my K1 application with no RFE

I've found a good hotel centrally located to St Lukes and the US Embassy

And I've found where to hail a taxi and how much I should expect to pay

And I've done it all from the opposite side of the planet earth!

And I owe it all to the people who share experience here on VJ

Thanks everyone you make this site GREAT!

Don
