Friend of mine who is USC filed for her parents to come here to the US. Right now she is at a point where she has to provide affidavit of support documents to NVC. The problem is she is housewife, and her husband has very little income and he does not qualify as solo sponsor. Her brother in law makes enough money and he is ready to sponsor her parents. Can he only fill out the I864 form himself or her husband should also be part sponsor?

Thanks in advance for your advise.

Whom ever filed the petition must also file the affidavit regardless if she works or not. The brother-in-law would be a co-sponsor so she MUST file affidavit yes.

Keep it Real

For those who are unemployed, as long as you are the PETITIONER, you must also submit an AOS.

I already asked this question to an immigration officer when I became a USC where i took an oath :)

I am the USC
