i hung out with the druggie crowd in highschool. we scored our pot from the rich kids, which helped them fund their coke parties.there are kids who look like 'druggies' and then there are the kids who look like upstanding young citizens, football players, cheerleaders, etc. and those are the kids who have access to the best drugs and were more capable of keeping their habits secret because adults rarely questioned them. you should never judge a book by its cover, pretty much always true.

That be true my man...in some cases. I was in the corp of cadets at my college, We had the best weed no doubt. Still sometimes you can look at someone and be fairly sure the do drugs.

It was kind of funny. Standing in formation in our class A's in front of the college. All the ranking cadets stone off their but.

So in this situation, nothing should have been done? And then if he goes ahead and acts out this plan and kills a few dozen people, then what? We look for the "early warning signs" that something wasn't right with this kid, we see he'd literally spelled out what he was going to do, and it got ignored.

Not arguing that at all. Just saying I don't think they should be able to arrest you and post a 1 million dollar bond before they have some real evidence.Neighbors turning people in becuse they claimed they said this and that..

NAZI GERMANY, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, etc

So if you think that simply laying out a plan and verbalizing it isn't a crime, only acting out on it is ... I can go to the airport and simply talk about "laying out a plan" to take the plane down? Hey, they shouldn't have a problem with it until I act on it, right? Failed logic, sir.

Maybe I'll go see the White House and talk about assassinating the President. No big deal. Just words!

I think there are specific laws to cover that .

Man I think I am going to stop working and pimp for a living. That does not make me a criminal.

I edited your post . Let me be clear that this was some girl from England that said that.... I have it on good record she is a subversive reactionary.. Echelon please direct all your computing power to Evylin.

So I can go to work and tell my coworkers that I plan to come in one day, lure them all to the break room, and open fire? The police wouldn't have any reason to take me into custody?

What if I told a friend that I was planning on kidnapping someone and torturing them? And that I was researching the best way to lure someone into my house. The police wouldn't have any reason to take me in?

Come on now.

Y'all need to read up on inchoate offenses.

I had never heard this term before! Thanks.

For the lazy:

An inchoate offense, inchoate offence, or inchoate crime is a crime of preparing for or seeking to commit another crime. The most common example of an inchoate offense is "attempt." "Inchoate offense" has been defined as "Conduct deemed criminal without actual harm being done, provided that the harm that would have occurred is one the law tries to prevent."

Timeline

As I stated before, even though Ajay facepalmed it, there has to be 2 people involved before it can be considered a conspiracy.

In criminal law, a conspiracy is an agreement between two or more persons to commit a crime at some time in the future.

I know. Herschel said if someone overheard him talking about robbing a bank. It was my assumption that he wouldn't be talking to himself about it.

what would be awesome is if the government could sic a drone on you/your home for a google search of incriminating nature. i mean, in most of these cases effective due process would require a physical crime committed first. let's start skipping that part!
