I was out of status when my wife petitioned for me and we had a short 15 minute interview and approved on the spot. They even stamped my passport. So I don't think being out of status has anything to do with it.

05/22/2012 - MAILED AOS PACKAGE.
06/04/2012 - RECEIVED NOTICE IN THE MAIL.
06/04/2012 - RECEIVED BIOMETRICS APPOINTMENT IN THE MAIL.
06/06/2012 - WALK IN BIOMETRICS COMPLETED.
07/11/2012 - TEXT AND EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS OF I-485 INTERVIEW APPOINTMENT.
07/13/2012 - RECEIVED HARD COPY OF INTERVIEW NOTICE IN THE MAIL.
07/28/2012 - EAD CARD PRODUCTION ORDER.
08/04/2012 - EAD CARD IN HAND.
08/15/2012 - GC INTERVIEW. APPROVED. PASSPORT STAMPED.
08/20/2012 - GC CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED.
08/23/2012 - GC RECEIVED.

06/28/2014 - MAILED I-751 PACKAGE

07/05/2014 - RECEIVED NOA 1

01/15/2016 - Interviewed and Approved.

08/02/2016 - N400 Interviewed and Approved.

You need to get prepared, always be prepared to the worst. they could separate you. so be prepared and if you have some money take a lawyer with you

day 77-- 06/26/2012-- interview / approved on the spot.

day 86-- 07/05/2012-- Received my GC in the mail.

Getting 2nd interview quickly(just after 2-3 weeks of first) is a good sign or bad especially when i see few people got 2nd interview after only after few months or even longer?

Read somewhere...

If the USCIS addressed the letter to your wife(Petitioner), the interview will likely be a Stokes interview. If USCIS addressed it to you(beneficiary), then it is likely a followup interview on your application for adjustment of status.

Unfortunately i have no idea how it looks on Stokes interview but if i`d have to go i`d prepare myself and my wife aswell.

What would i do is, take a few white papers and a pen and pretend you are IO what would you ask young couples if you suspect in their mariage?! Start writing question by question and after you are done start writing answers. Ofcourse dont make them up but try to answer as it is together with your wife.

Not gonna say anything else to avoid any possible confusion but would be indeed good if someone with Stokes interview exp could post their story.

@GreenTrain: I am definitely crossing my fingers for you on the 1st, man!!!! All the best!!! Let's hope that whoever was not competent at your interview, they gave it to their superior, and the superior has forgot the case, and now he/she needs to look at it again as he has absolutely no idea how good or bad you guys were. So he/she called you guys back in just so that he/she can familiarize himself/herself with your case and finally put an end to it, instead of sitting in the office "staring at the ceiling"...after all, they don't like to have packs of cases on the table in a "standby"...good luck!
