Usually when they are over 16, they go through the same process as adults. Correct me if I am wrong, anyone.

Did they say anything at interview about why he is in AP, and what is written on his sheet of paper? For example does he have a different father, or last name?

Bye: Penguin

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Then it sounds like for some reason, they are not certain that you are the father. They may be checking into familial relationships and might ask for a DNA test.

THE DNA WAS ALREADY DONE FOR ALL 4 OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME, SAME PLACE AND HE DOES SHARE THE SAME MOTHER WITH ONE OF OTHER 3 WHO ALREADY RECIEVED THEIR VISAS.

The US Embassy is probably doing additional background check on your 16 year old child.

Nothing to do but wait.

Good luck.

No one can tell you. Could be a week, a month, or several months. I can't imagine there is too much checking to do with a 16 year old, but if the child has a very common name, it may still take a while.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY. BUT WHAT ARE THE COMON NAMES ?

That would be something thats only in their database. For Ghana it may not be name or it could. You are in High Fraud scammer country so his name might be like someone else that did wrong. There's no way of knowing exactly what they are checking. You just have to be patient there's no time table to AP. It's just a waiting game. Sorry.
