I just heard about the Oregon Mall shooting & am watching it on the news. If Im not mistaken I believe Sandinista lives near the area? Hope all is ok for you if that is near you. -Tamara

Aww, thank you Tamara. It's literally right down the road from our home. Everyone I know is safe, but my mom's neighbor was working at Macy's when this happened, in the same store the shooting took place. Absolutely horrific, and she's actually pretty traumatized right now.

My heart hurts at all of this.

I've been reading stories about people who stepped up to help others when this was happening, helping each other find their way outside, that kind of thing.

Sorry to hear about your mother. I hope that she gets counseling for dealing with the trauma of this tragedy. I can't imagine what it's like for her to go through.

It was her mother's neighbor, not her mother that worked at Macy's during the shooting.

My supervisor is from that area. She said her youngest brother's school was on lock-down after it happened.

They don't even know what the shooter's motive was at this point.

This such a mad world.

She posted on Facebook about being at her fragrance table in the front of the store, and actually seeing him fire a couple of shots into the air. Herself and a couple of customers hid in a stockroom for awhile, and then were escorted out by the police about an hour later.

My mom had a lunch date there that afternoon but ended up not going, thankfully.

Thank you! Yeah, we go to movies there and stuff pretty often-my husband can't stay away from the huge REI store. It has to be scary for kids too when their school goes on lockdown like that :-(
