So getting used to my husbands 401k and not having rrsps etc here was hard for me to understand. Everything has an investment aspect to it..

Now that we are signing up for life insurance, well its the same damn thing? Why does everyone want to invest my money when i don't want it invested lol. I want a normal life insurance policy for X amount of dollars period. i don't want one that lasts for 22 years..GOD i'm only 38!

What gives with all these things here and why do they all have this stupid component of investment??

I have an accounting background so I understand some of it but why is there no OPTION for me to not invest period? I don't get it...I miss my RESP'S and RRSP's and my london life right now :(

Many different types of life insurance--it gets confusing, lol Hope ur reporting ur RRSPS to the IRS on form 8891. I was to sign up for life insurance before we left the USA--But I forgot, lol Too complicated

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
