Hi,

I now regret getting a lawyer for all this. Having a move date of the 10th December we are n the process of sorting everything for AOS.

My question is this.

They want us to complete questionnaires etc so they can not these int the forms, basically all I want to do is complete these myself get married and place the certificates in with AOS that we are sending.

The lawyer has come back with a medical requirement, but surely already having one, does this suffice ?

* Please note that every applicant for Adjustment of Status must have a medical examination conducted by a designated Civil Surgeon. Medical examination forms, Form I-693, can be accessed on the USCIS website at http://www.uscis.gov under the "Immigration Forms" section and are often provided by the designated civil surgeons.

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=eb1f3591ec04d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

Mark can locate designated civil surgeons in your area by accessing the USCIS website or through calling the USCIS National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. Once he has selected the Civil Surgeon, have the Civil Surgeon complete the medical examination form (Form I-693) on the day of the appointment. Please be advised that the medical examination MAY INCLUDE a drug test and will include screening for tuberculosis, as well as syphilis for applicants 15 years old and older. Mark will need to remember to bring his immunization records to the examination so that the Civil Surgeon may review them and determine whether there is a need for further immunization. These vaccinations may include, but are not limited to: diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles-mumps-rubella, influenza, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, chickenpox, rotavirus, and shingles.

Yea, another medical examination is required

For AoS - even though one was done recently! A pain I know but just find a local

That is 100% not true.

From the instructions to the medical form I-693 page 4

Frequently Asked Questions (Section III. 2, c)

2. What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas?

If you were admitted as a:

A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or as a

B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and

C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

1.
You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination
, and the medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition, or if you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and have complied with the terms and conditions on the waiver.

2. Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025)
was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report,
you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693.

#2 above is exactly why I tell K1s they should get all their shots prior to going to Knightsbridge so they can get a properly completely DS-3025 and skip the Civil Surgeon altogether in the US.

Remember your marriage has to be recorded in the county records and you have to be issued a certified marriage certificate. I see you are marrying on a Monday, so maybe you've already checked that they can issue your certificate the same day. Some places make you wait for them to mail it to you.

Rob-- info here http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/depts/recorder/pages/orderingmarriagecertificate.aspx

Instead of waiting for our (Texas) officiant to get the info to the courthouse, we told him we would handle it. He signed his part and we took it to the county clerk's office ourselves when they opened the next morning. They did our certificate while we waited. So ask that question..do you have to wait on the officiant or can you bring it in yourselves and get same day service after the ceremony.
