Hey guys my fiancé arrived last sat and today he applies for his SSN. I was surprised that they took his application and he didn't get refuse because of less than 10days rules lol

Anyhow he has been told to wait about 2weeks to get the actual card. Base on your experience usually how long it took for you guys to get the SSN card? Thanks!!

It took about two weeks for Chinook to receive her Social Security card. That was in 2009, but I don't think it's changed much.

It just took my wife about 4 weeks to get an updated SSC without the requiring authorization to work note on it. There was an error in the USCIS computer system (it listed her by her maiden name, and not her married name) which they needed to straighten out first. SSA agent saw the problem and sent a message to USCIS to correct it right away. Given ours was a two step process, four weeks was pretty fast to get the updated SS card. BTW we just did this about 6 weeks ago.

It took four weeks for me,when i followed up after 3 weeks, SSA said they are waiting for the immigration. As per SSA is concern im ok with them but they cant issue a number to me because they need the full authorization from immigration. I think the time i applied for SSN the database of I-94 is not yet updated that's why it took long for them to verify my status. But some of my friends they got their SSN after two weeks or less.
