Hi all, i was just wondering if any of you could help me with a little question i have, My fiance filed our I-129F forms and we received our receipt number but is that all were meant to get or is there more were waiting on? its been about 3 months now and we've not heard anything and the USCIS site says there doing checks. is this normal and am i getting worried over nothing?

Yes, that's very normal. It takes, on average, 5-6 months before the petition is adjudicated.

In the meantime, take a few minutes to fill in your VJ timeline along with updating the service center where the petition was sent. It's either Vermont (EAC) or California (WAC).

:time:

Where did your case get forwarded to? VSC or CSC? If you look at your receipt #, the first 3 letters should say where it went. WAC for CSC and EAC for VSC

Good luck!

If you went to Vermont you have to wait about 5 - 6 months while California is approving July applications right now. If you want an estimate of your dates you can fill in your timeline.

And just to make sure your fiance received not just the receipt number but his NOA1 (first notice of action). That is a paper USCIS would've mailed to his address. I think you might need a copy of that letter for the interview. It all depends on the embassy in your country.

Good luck!
