Hello Everyone,

Yesterday we received our GC in hand dancin5hr.gif .

Anyone who is curious how the process went after receiving update - below are the details

August 13th - Received Email from USCIS stating ordered production of card (website status showed CARD / DOCUMENT PRODUCTION)

August 14th - When we checked the case status it went back to DECISION

August 15th - Received Email from USCIS stating ordered production of card (moved forward again to CARD / DOCUMENT PRODUCTION)

August 16th - Received Email stating Mailed New Card

August 21st - Received GC in hand dancin5hr.gif

It seems like it goes back & forth few times (I got a little worried when it went back to Decision & thus I'm posting above in case if anyone else is paranoid like I'm no0pb.gif ).

I wanted to Thank Everyone who helped us in our journey, VJ & all members has been the best help I could have asked for.

For everyone who is still waiting - do not loose hope, you are almost there - GOOD LUCK!

Best Wishes.

Atl Desi Guy!

We are approved, as of today, 8/23/2013. We scheduled an infopass, and had taken a bunch of documents showing the need to travel and wrap up some affairs abroad, which could only be practically done after residency was secured in the US.

However, they didnt look at this or listen to our story. As soon as we reached the officers counter, he looked at our receipt and said "I think I know why you are here". Then he looked up some stuff on the computer before going to speak with a colleague. They then led us to a room and gave a short interview (I think this was required because the fingerprints had been rejected twice, and we had previously submitted police clearances). Were initially supposed to be interview waiver at NBC, but the case had been transferred to the field office recently due to the overload there. After the interview, the officer said congratulations and that she is approving our case. Received a "card production ordered" email while on the freeway driving home.

So what i think helped: Congressman's inquiry got someone to actually look at the case and realize that the fingerprints were rejected twice and clearances/interview were required. This could have happened like 8 months ago, and the case could have been yanked then from the interview waiver mountain at NBC. Seems that does not happen automatically. Scheduling an infopass and talking to a real human face to face clinched the deal. It has been an extremely frustrating 11 month process, but we reached the light at the end of the tunnel.

Yours will be the same. Be persistent, polite, but don't be brushed off. Good luck to all.
