GM in rural areas there are main post offices and the mail is delivered there and alphabetized. They can call or go by to check for their name to see if mail has arrived. The address you put on your paperwork as the finace's address is where the delivery will go. For us it was General Delivery at Post Office nearest to his home.

Try not to get overwhelmed though I know its hard. The process is a bit different for everyone it seems and even though delays are stressful it does not usually mean denial - just delays from what I have read here.

This site is a wealth of information and can help along the way. Once he gets his first Packet (named Packet 3) he sends in Part One of the DS230 form (you can email it in for him if its signed and completed - then you take the original to the interview). Usually 4 days after you email that first form....you can inquire by calling the Dept of State and find your interview date. The interview packet is then sent (named Packet 4) and from that point you can work via email to get the same documents as mailed sent to you over email (as long as you are polite I think....this was my case anyway). Hope that helps. I am new to this and have learned the process from this site. Correct me if I am wrong others :-)

So he doesn't receive mail at his house? Does he have a PO Box? How does he get his other mail? The Embassy will email you the information they mail to him, if you request it.

the post office does not deliver the mail at the house. Usually you have to put a phone number on the envelope and they call the person saying they have mail at the post office. But the embassy is not going to do that.

So I guess i should call the embassy after NOA2 and request notifications to be send to my email???

Thanks again

You will still need to get the official interview letter by mail (but they will email it too). I've heard that you need the official letter to present at that the interview. I'm not sure how picky they are about bringing the letter you get via email to the interview. I'm sure the Embassy is familiar with the mail system though. But when you email them, you can inquire about the process for delivery. He needs to get a no-impediment to marriage certificate from RGD. They mail those certicates too, but maybe you can arrange for pickup.
