Who goes to California for tourism? No one I know. But then again I don't know any crazy hippies.

San Francisco? We get a huge influx of European tourists every summer, you know, the kind of people that actually have money to spend?

Europeans, Mexicans.... I sense a theme.

California has the best wine too in the Napa Valley.

Yes, the best wine in the Napa Valley is in Napa Valley.

Three cheers for California!

Alaska had 28 billion dollars in debt in 2011. That's a fact. Wiggle all you want but Alaska is lot more like Greece than California.

Your link is a joke.

http://www.alaskadispatch.com/article/high-oil-prices-fuel-projected-34-billion-surplus-alaska

High oil prices fuel projected $3.4 billion surplus for Alaska

Now factor in that our Oil Tax Fund (Alaska Permanent Fund) has anywhere to $40 - $50 billion dollars in it depending on the stock market and other investments. We have NO state tax and every man, woman, and child that is an Alaska resident gets an annual dividend check. Ya, think on that one but don't be breaking anything up there while your at it.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

If Alaska were an independent country, think of all the weapons that money could buy.

With Alaska's strategic position literally at the top of the world, there would be no holding you guys back.

Alaskan culture would quickly dominate the world and we'd all have to learn to speak Alaskan.

There's also this place called Disneyland

 girl, you got jokes.

disney world is way better.

There is some good stuff right here in Sonoma County - Korbel and Kendall Jackson to name two, that I drive by all the time. Even Beringer grows most of their grapes on this side of the ridge.

And Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Aquarium, etc... California is another Greece. People go there to vacation and buy a few trinkets but in the mean time California is going down the crapper.

Laugh all you want. If Florida were a country, it would be a vassal state of Cuba. And you would be the Castro family's water boy.

Unlike Alaska, Florida is not hanging on Uncle Sam's teat. We'd do just fine without having to support the leeches of this Union. As would California, by the way.
