Bank account statement - not much activity

Hello all VJ's,

My wife and I have a joint bank account (she added me to hers after marriage). The bank account statement doesn't show much activity since I don't have a work authorization and therefor work for cash and my wife is a student and only works part time. My question is, if i'm asked during the interview why there is no much activity and how we support ourselves, will that be appropriate to tell them i work (or worked, cuz i believe by the time the interview is scheduled ill have a SSN and work permit) for cash. I know USCIS is not IRS but still i'm not sure if they will like to hear that.

Thank you all for further answers
