I am new here and this is my first post. So here goes.

I need information as to who can apply/file for a B-2 Visa.

6 Months ago I was introduced to a woman in the Phillipines

buy a friend at work that met his wife there.

In fact She is a friends of my co-workers wife.

Since we met we have chatted on Yahoo. Talked on the phone.

And exchanced emails and photos.

Our relationship has progressed to the point that we are ready

to meet in person.

We both agree that She sould come to America for us to meet.

I understand that it will be a bit more costly, and a hassle for her

since She will be the one that will have to travel to the Embassy in Manila.

But, if approved She can stay here for up to six months.

Whereas I would only be able to stay two weeks becasue of job limitations.

My question is a simple one.....

Can I (living in Texas) file electronically for Her B-2 Tourist Visa?

Tinkrn

there might be a lot of stuff to do in there. the embassy will surely ask her for more proof that she'll be returning in her country after a couple of months. but since you both have met and in a relationship. why not plan a trip for you to visit her in PH? if you guys plan to get marry someday then you can possible to file a petition for her..that will be so easy to do. You can apply for a fiance visa if you and her will plan the wedding in the states & spousal visa if you marry in the phipilippines. you can visit this site www.uscis.gov... good luck!

Anyone can apply for a toursit visa, but SHE must apply. Not you

It is extremely unlikely that a younge, single woman from PI will be granted a tourist visa, what are her ties to PI?

Good luck

As the others have said, she must file because she wants the visa. You can give her the money for the application but that is about it. The chances of a young, single Philippina getting a tourist visa are slim, but a denial won;t hurt a future fiance/ marriage visa so if you have the money, worth a try.

her chances are very slim at best now if you go visit her you will save a lot of headaches later just hop on the plane and surprise her she would love you more and that way you can meet her family and take a short vacation at the same time- you never know you might even marry her over there good-luck

Thanks everyone for the replies...

I agree that I should meet her in PI.

She does not think it is a good idea becasue

of a recent bus explosion.

I told her it would be easier for me to come ther since I

do not need a visa. Only passport.3

AND. I would pay for her to travel to Manila.

She lives in Pagadian City.

MAYBE, she is getting cold feet.

Beware of the typical scam, "it's too dangerous where I live so let's meet in the big city and not at my house." Usually those people are hiding their real family, or hiding you from their family for some reason. There is a Philippines subforum below where you can ask for the real scoop. Most people say PI is safe, even the "dangerous" areas. Best of luck!

PI has a history of young women who went to the US on a tourist visa and forgot to come home!

So they stopped that

Good luck
