I've searched the forums here, but I can't seem to find much information on why the USCIS forms do not allowing saving (using Acrobat Reader 7).

The G-325A form in particular is rather annoying. The form I got on the official site will auto-fill the info from page 1 to the other 3 pages, which is very convenient, but without the save feature, the form is really quite useless since you have to type everything again by hand if you need to make a change later.

I don't know where I found it, but I did find a I-129F form that was fillable AND savable in Acrobat Reader 7, but I dont' remember where I got it though I recall they didn't have the G-325A form in the same savable format.

I found another set of forms at http://www.fillindocs.com/ that has the forms in a "ITAOP" (insert text anywhere on page) that at least allows a way to save/load, though it's a LOT more cumbersome than a simple save.

I know that if I pay money to Adobe to get the professional version, I can save, but to me, I just can't think of any good reason not to allow saving. I mean, having to retype the form again just leaves so much room for potential error...

I'm sure there *has* to be some sort of rational workaround that isn't going to cost a ton of money or sanity, but I just can't seem to find it.

Or, does everyone just accept how crappy the forms are when it comes to saving and just try to do it all in one try?

And I'm sure the topic has been discussed here before, but I couldn't find anything while searching, so sorry in advance for bringing up a topic that has been talked about previously.

Thanks.

I think you're up the crick hon. Unless you want to fork over the dough for the super-duper-extra-wonderful version of Acrobat, you're stuck. When we did ours we filled them out on the computer, printed them, trashed the extras, then went through with a red pen to mark corrections. After the proofreading, we re-entered everything into the forms and reprinted them. It was a little time-consuming, but alas it was pretty much our only option.

I just want to know... Once you received the NOA1 (1-2 weeks after mailing the petition) and then received the NOA2 (approximately in 3 months or so), what's the next thing you will get in the mail? What's this PACKAGE 3 consists of?

Please enlighten me with what to get upon receiving these things...

NOA1

NOA2

PACKAGE 3

I've been lurking here for quite some times now and it's just now that I had the courage to register and post so I could get better insights...

Gracias!

That's fine. I figured if there were an easy way around this, someone here would know, so I thought I'd at least check. I guess it could be worse (if we had to hand-type or handwrite all 4 copies).

Thanks.

the old-style forms had you fill out the top sheet and there were carbon sheets in between, so you only had to fill it out once, wasn't so bad :)

You can find a link to a free trial version of acrobat pro 7 in my signature. You can also use the fillable forms from www.visapro.com Check to make sure they are the most up to date forms, but they generally do keep up with the USCIS site and they are savable. The G-325A hasn't been updated yet but the version they have is still acceptable according to the USCIS site.
