Have you all ever been to the offices before and seen the stack of files these people have? I'm sure there is some chronological order but I can almost guarantee it is not first come first serve... I asked a girl at a field office once how she keeps everything straight, her response... I don't. When you get to your interview here in the states you will see what I mean it is crazy how many cases they sit in front of. Thousands!

I am in the same boat...February 9th for me...so I guess there is comfort in numbers, but I am at my wits end. It is getting real old real fast. Does anyone have the number directly to the VSC? I looked but did not find it. I have been calling the support center number...and I have also called my senator...they got a packaged, and really inaccurate reply.

Hi all, I have my petition also sitting at VSC; today was my 2nd call to USCIS - both the agents have been very cordial on the phone - 2 weeks ago I was told they were working on January 16 and today they stated they are into February 2, so the agent said things are moving somewhat. We are at 162 days still within normal processing times, but I wanted to check anyway. I do empathize on the waiting aspect, but it is what needs to be done for now. My fiance had said last week he hoped to be here by Christmas so we are keeping that in mind (I originally thought, see you in September) but that doesn't seem feasible. I have hesitated returning to visit him during this process in case any info was needed, etc. He also said it is so painful & difficult to say goodbye again. Isn't that the truth! For now, just working, waiting, hoping - we should be on the downside now. I wish everyone a successful journey and extreme patience; it is worth it.

To all of the February filers: This opionion is mine and it is based on the limited information that we get from the approvals that are shown on the Visa Journey Site. Of course, on the USCIS side, they would rather lie to you, even when the truth sounds better. If you call USCIS they will tell you that they are working on January 16th files. The reason that they say this is because they do not to want to tell you the truth: because if they admit that they are working on late Feb. and March, and skipping over early to mid February files, then all of us in this time frame would be qualified for a "Service Request". I told USCIS that it has been over 6 months for me and that I am entitled to a Service Request, after 5 months. The info about the Expectations for service in 5 months or less is even stated on their own web site. And they tell me that nothing is wrong, and my files are not lost of misplaced because they are not working on February files yet. "If you have not received approval after another month you can call back and we willl check on it".

Look at the last 15 approvals for Vermont Service Center. Most of of NOA-1 dates that they have approved lately are later than February 15. If you could see what they (Vermont) was approving 1 to 2 weeks back-- it was mostly files from late January and files from Feb. 15 to March. Where in the world are the bulk of the files from Feb.1 to Feb. 17?

I like the marching idea! I bet it's frustrating. I honestly think there would be a way to speed things up. But it sounds like you are all days away to receiving yours, so might not make sense. Maybe renting a plane to fly your number with a smiley face and please behind it around their office for a few hours. I'd think outside the box, unless you know your politician calling him/her probably won't do much. Although I'm at the beginning of mine, calling and saying if it got done incredibly soon then I'd be a large contributor might help... I mean they are politicians... ha ha
