Hi there,

Getting to grips with the guides and filling out forms :)

With regards to financial support on the I129 F, my fiance is self employed as he runs his own business. He only pays himself what he needs to pay his bills as the majority of his needs (housing and associated bills) are covered by the business (he lives there as it is a lodging business). Therefore, his personal income looks very small on paper although his assets more than cover the amount needed.

I am concerned that the figures on his tax return, pay stubs, etc won't show the true situation. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks!

They look at a lot more than just last years tax returns. You can also show how much money he has in the bank, any mortgages in his name, any property in his name, all of his assets can be looked at. Just remember that their goal is to determine if you will become a burden to the government if anything goes wrong. As long as you can prove that his income and assets can take care of both of you, you should be fine. Also any 401k or savings, stocks, etc are also good proof~ Good luck!

May the power of love be with you
