Dear All,

I was interviewed me and my wife at Honolulu field office I have 24 years old adjusted from B1 Visa and My wife is 37 years old.

I was living in Hawaii all that time since I've met my wife and we got married then applied for adjustment of status and my main reason to U.S was coming to visit Las Vegas for a convention then travelled Hawaii.

When I have adjusted my status and got an EAD , I've got a job offer immediately in California by May 15th and our interview date was May 31st.

I decided to take the interview in Hawaii field office and I let my wife stay in Hawaii till the interview date then take her to CA second day.

The interview went fine not bad and I've explained everything regarding working in CA and gave them my driving license there and I still have the house rented in Hawaii till July 24th and after than I will do a complete move and will file AR-11 Change of address.

The officer took my new address and told me if u got any decision or green card it must be sent to the address where u live?

Officer asked about our age difference and our reply was the age difference is just a number and we are more open minded than looking for age thing as an obstacle.

At the end of the interview officer told us I will discuss your case with my manager and we will see if we can process your case here in Hawaii or will transfer it to California but however if you got anything you have any missing document or need more interview or anything it will be in California.

then she told us that's it for now and we were left without any timeline for a decision.

3 weeks eventually got a call from USCIS your case is pending and it would be transferred to California San Francisco although the field office of my area belongs to San Jose and not to San Francisco.

I'd like to know do you think the process will delay and I will have another interview and all what was done in Hawaii was just some fresh air?

It's very odd USCIS office is a USCIS office anywhere it doesn't matter the decision comes from Hawaii or California.

Do they will reschedule interview in California field office?

I'd be very frustrated and irritated if that happened because I paid too much for tickets back and forth to Hawaii and then waited 3 weeks and nothing was happened at all.

It's very frustrating

It may be nothing, or the interviewing officer has doubts about the legitimacy of your marriage.

If there is another interview it will be what is called a Stokes Interview. That is more in depth and intense. Both of you are interviewed separately and the answers compared. Pass, and everything is good. Fail, and your time in the US is at an end.

Good luck.

It does matter. You can only be approved by the office that has jurisdiction over your area, because if you appeal a decision it will go through district courts. If you are living in CA you cannot be approved by HI.
