You may still get an interview. It depends on how they find the case.

It seems like Cali is processing them as " whenever they get around to it " some people seem to be waiting quite a while for theirs to be processed while a few are zipping through.

4-5 months is the general.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Most probably you won't have an interview but how long it's gonna take...no one will tell you, because no one knows...our case was transferred to California in the beginnig of May and still nothing - look at the post of Jilli & Ales - their case was transferred in January and still nothing... good luck with your case!

yeah it would be sweet with no interview cuz the local office is like 3-4 hours away from us. so it would be nice to not have the drive up there :) ..

Hey Guys,

I hate to say that but I think you will be waiting for quite a while. I filed my Mother's AOS on 11/25/2011 and the case was transferred to California on 12/25/2011 and there is still no response except the touch/update she had on 04/30/2012. I guess I prepared the paperwork well cause she is adjusting from B2 and no Interview.

On the other side I just looked up the 2011 November AOS filers forum and somebody that sent AOS from K1 on 11/21/2011 and it was transferred 11/25 just got approved yesterday!

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/337144-november-2011-aos-filers/page__hl__transfer+california__st__780

It looks like CSC is really backlogged at the moment but still 6 months is bearable. I remember times when CSC was removing conditions on residence for 1 month!, when VSC was doing it for 2-3 months. Last year VSC was doing it for 6-7 months. So it really depends on the wave of apps. Be patient and Good Look!

Cali is better known around here as the "black hole" :crying: . Funny how about a year ago, the CSC was actually processing things at a much faster clip than Vermont and other centers.

FYI, I had just placed a call to the CSC a few days back as our 485 is in the black hole mentioned before. The call resulted in a special request and to call back in 15 days if we had not heard anything. The rep did confirm that 4-5 months is the average time for AOS 485 processing (that is 4-5 months from the time the case is transferred, sorry to get you some bad news; but in the bright side, since this CSC situation has been going on for a while, it is possible that you get the back swing of it and your case gets processed faster than the average).

One interesting fact that I did not know is that apparently there is no "single" location CSC (I was thinking of a service center as a large government style building where all processing happens); and in fact CSC is made out of several offices around thew state (or more precisely, around and outside LA from the conversation I had with the rep), each one with its own staff. Why this is important? Because I think that explains the delays in some cases, if there are several satellite offices, the average of 4-5 months is made out of offices that are faster than 4 months and offices that are slower than 5. It seems ours are in the slower ones...lucky us..yay...

As for interview, I don't think is a given that no interview will happen. It all depends on the case. Our plan is to count on it; if it happens we are prepared (nothing to be prepared about really, my wife knows more about my family than myself at this point :P , is more the additional time), if it does not, great.

Anyhow, hope this helps and good luck

Yes, CSC is a black hole, mine just got approved after 6 months and 2 weeks. I would've much preferred an interview like 4 months ago but unfortunately we don't get too choose... nor do we get any kind of updates in the process. Good luck!

My resume has now a line: Dealing with federal governmental sub-optimal and very lenthy processes; always finding the positive side of the events/scenarios while keeping a win-win attitude and calm at all times during direct interactions. Able to keep focus on the end results under stressful situations.
