I put my husband's birth certificate front and back instead of passport, that was another option.

For evidence, I put car insurance, car registration (both our names on both documents), joint bank account paper and photocopies of our driver licenses (same address).

Oh yes! Why didn't I think of the driver's licenses, we have the same address too! Hehe.

Update on Boston Biometrics walk-in: SUCCESS!!!

I got there today (Monday) at 9:40am, and the whole process was only 20 minutes, I was out by 10am.

There were around 10 people or so in the waiting area, around 1/8th full. There's a check-in counter with 2 tables. I was hoping to get the younger good looking officer and I did. (For me, they're the ones that are easier to talk to.) He asked why I am there early. I said it's because we will be in the Lake in New Hampshire the week of 4th of July for two weeks. He asked when I am leaving. I said the week before 4th of July to the end of the 4th of July week. He waved another officer close and told him my story, that older officer took a pen and marked it on my paper that today is my appointment date and his initials. The younger officer then said in a nice way, "Ok, just this time, do not do this again." I said ok and that I really appreciated it. He gave me a form to fill up. Usual stuffs, name, address, SNN, case number (starting with MSC-there's two of them-I only wrote one and the receptionist filled in the other when my number was called). I don't remember writing my address... birthday, other names.

I might have finished early if the old officer didn't randomly point at two people waiting and said, "Are you done filling up the forms? Come with me.", when I was the next number in line..

So then I was ushered up a ramp, then sit on some chairs in a line waiting to get fingerprinted and picture taken.

You hand over your form and appointment sheet, plus an ID. The persons giving the biometrics all look and sound very Asian. I would guess Vietnamese. Mine squirted some water into my hands and asked me to rub them until it is dry. She took 4 fingers first, then thumbs. Then she took rolling prints of each finger. Then picture is taken (Augh, my face looks fat and silly in the bright room light, lol). Then she handed me a small comment sheet to rate her to fill up and drop in the dropbox. She had to redo a finger and then I'm off.

I am glad I took the risk and did it.

Oh another thing, no electronics so I left my phone with my husband and stopped by his office when I was done. There was no place to leave it in the Boston location. But when the front desk reminded people no cellphones allowed, she said turning them off is good too.

All in all, it was a good experience. I will look around if there's walk-in updates and I'll copy paste it there too.

I had posted this as a new thread but it looks like no one reads that part of the forum. Maybe here I get inputs.

My NOA1 for form I-130 arrived and is missing my middle name, I called USCIS and they added it. The I-797 for the I485 has my correct name, middle initial, and two last names.

will the process be slower since there was a missing middle name and had to be corrected?

my second question is:

I already have a work permit trough TPS and it expires in September 2013 so I did not file for one on my application. Will this speed up the process of my application since I already have a current EAD til 2013?

by the way every time I renew my TPS I don't re-do my finger prints and biometrics. do you think that it might no need to re-do them for this application as well?

Update on Boston Biometrics walk-in: SUCCESS!!!

Grats on being able to do the walk in!

I had posted this as a new thread but it looks like no one reads that part of the forum.

Welcome! Yea there's a June 2012 thread but it's empty. So I came here. :P

will the process be slower since there was a missing middle name and had to be corrected?

I doubt it will. Adding/correctly a name seems so minor to me.

I don't think needing/not needing an EAD really changes the process too much from what I've seen. However who knows with immigration?

You might need to get biometrics done anyways but again not entirely sure.

I doubt it that name correction would delay it too. Maybe if it was the first name that's wrong, then that would be a problem. I think they would have just kept going even though the middle name is missing. Good luck!

Thank you that's what my husband said but I still called and added it anyways... Maybe when the touch my papers again they will just ignore the correction and continue where they left out.
