Never heard that but my wife is sitting over my shoulder and said, yes they asked her that

I only got two panicked phone calls from my wife, then fiancee while she was in the Philippines. The first was when all the girls going to the CFO that day were outside on their cellphones trying to reach their American boyfriends to find out their "secret" middle name. The other was when she called from PAL desk, telling me they wouldn't let her board, without a copy of both sides my credit card, without some of the numbers blocked out. She found a fax machine, and wanted me to fax the credit card. I had to explain to her, I couldn't put the credit card in the fax machine, and no copiers were available at 3 am. So, I faxed one of my statements, and I never found out whether or not she boarded the plane, until I picked her up in San Francisco 15 hours later. She was the last person to clear immigration and customs from that flight, and I still had no way to know whether she arrived or not. So, I sat there in the arrivals waiting area, for almost three hours before she finally showed. I am not always a patient man, but I guess I wanted to make sure she didn't make the flight before putting on my asshat.

Well, we chatted about it extensively last night and she was definitely stressed. I think we MIGHT have come to an agreement on how much is "enough" to bring.

Once I pointed out that the cost of the copies alone could reach $250 if we did "everything" then that helped make the point.

I'm going to go to Office Depot to have about 40 pix & screen shots printed up and she can divide those up between the CO and CFO, choosing whichever ones she likes best. She'll print up whatever emails she wants from her end. And of course, I'll be sending a boatload of stuff from my end as well.

I called the NVC yesterday afternoon and our file hasn't arrived yet, so we have plenty of time.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

Actually from VSC, your file should be there by June 10 at NVC. and be mailed to embassy around June 14. If the timeline follows then June 22 at embassy and processed (entered into system) by June 29. You should be looking at St. Luke's, interview, and CFO sometime during July to September time frame. Hope all goes well.

Don't forget the "mack truck forklift" for the paperwork.....

OMG my wife was the last one out to. I was going crazy because I didn't know if she made her connection in Japan. She was supposed to text, but her roaming SIM wasn't working there. Could have been the cheap phone to, she left her good smart phone with her sister. I actually called the airlines after 2.5 hours and confirmed she had made the connection. I think is was closer to 4 hours after the flight arrival when she finally got out. I'd been texting her sister wondering if she had heard any word to, but of course she hadn't either. As her family expected texts from Japan to, they had been concerned even long than I had. I had her texting home right away so they could relax.

If I wanted to sit around and wait for things to happen, then yeah it could be September or later before she arrives. The guy at NVC said to call back in 15 days... that's 3 full weeks. Yeah, right! I'll be calling back everyday until I get that case number. Some folks here have received the MNL number in just a few days after receiving the NOA2. It is possible to go from NOA2 to boarding a flight in a month or even less. No need to sit on my hands. It's time to be busy!

Having learned a lot from reading appropriate topics here on VJ, I will be far more proactive. I'll keep calling the NVC until I get the MNL number, then will set up the embassy interview. After that, the medical and CFO fall into place. By the time the case file gets to the embassy, we will be ready for the interview. She will do the CFO seminar after the visa is delivered and while waiting to fly out.

We're hoping for end of June when she gets on a plane, but it could be early to mid-July.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

One of the most popular things my wife and I brought to the interview was a picture of my family holding up a "Welcome To The USA Jena!" sign. Both the Filipino screener and the CO commented how nice it was to see my family was waiting for her arrival. We also had a picture of them holding up a Filipino flag, but they were holding it upside down "meaning they are at war!" We didn't include that photo! :bonk: Remembering that interview day still brings a tear to my eye.

It took 10 before I got the MNL #, have you emailed NVC? They are very good about replying to emails also.

Check on your embassy case number:

For the NVC:

Give them 7 - 10 days before calling. Call after 4:45 PM eastern time for shorter wait times

K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there:

1-603-334-0700 Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

Press 1 for English

Press 5 for an operator

REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:

You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:

* NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).

If I wanted to sit around and wait for things to happen, then yeah it could be September or later before she arrives. ..... We're hoping for end of June when she gets on a plane, but it could be early to mid-July.

I hope it works for you....At least from VSC to NVC (2 weeks) is much faster then CSC to NVC (about 1 month). Sad part is this is part of your processing time. Be nice if they treated this section better because of taking away from your time in processing at the Embassy.... :help:

End of June is really pushing it. It might happen at least the embassy interview. but I would honestly expect her to be boarding a plane mid to late July.

Best of luck though. Very very happy for you....

Huh? It was 10 days for me from CSC to NVC.

Do you PFA this information you post?

CSC is normally 30 days....VSC is normally 14 days..... Look at the K-1 stats on VisaJourney..... ....If you can type on here, then you are old enough to do what you are asking.....

PFA = PFA Means....

:ot2:

I keep on wondering if all this documentation is so they know you have done your homework and are ready for them? Having so much and using so little.... but you never know what they might ask for and you just don't have it right then and there... and get delayed.....

Yep, the sign idea is something that I want to do as well. Been thinking about it for awhile. Getting everyone together to get it done is an issue, but it is workable. Having the NOA2 might help motivate people to get here for the pic. One of them is 90 and barely hanging on though.

I've seen a few case files get transferred in 5 days. That would be way cool.

When I talked with the NVC guy this evening and he said to again call back after 15 biz days, he sounded really bored with having to make that statement. Sorta like he's said it a million times a day and he KNOWS that the caller will ignore the request.

On the truckload side... I went to Office Depot today and had them print out 38 pix condensed onto 10 sheets of photo quality paper. Saved money and got some good stuff done. My fiancee can cut them up and use whichever ones she chooses and probably won't need any copies. I also had a bunch of screen shots printed out on regular bond paper and they came out great. I'm a happy camper.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

I sent the I-134 package out today via FedEx... EEEYOOOWWWW! The price was TOUGH. But, it's done. Even with a full copy of the I-129F, the total package weight including the box was just a smidge over 5 pounds.

Got the MNL number 6 business days after the package was shipped from Vermont. Paid for the visas last night my time. Will be able to schedule the interview within a day or so.

Now coordinating several things in order to set the interview date.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.
