I saw soar eee as well, and garage. Apparently I pronounce progress (prog-ress) and salsa in a way that makes people question where I'm from. Not sure what I'm doing to 'mispronounce' salsa, but it makes my fiance laugh every time.

Regardless of how they say it everyone mispronounces salsa apart from hispanics.

i just tested the tap and brown toast on my wife...although i stopped with the brown toast a while back....so yup, tap means to tap on things ie finger on desk....faucet is known....brown toast = burned toast??? so no brown toast

The first time I asked for brown toast in a restaurant the server looked at me really confused. I, of course, was unaware of what I'd said, so I had no idea how to help her. Finally, she said "Do you mean you want it toasted really well?" So then I had the look of confusion. lol

Apparently, I say "house" differently than others, because I've been caught on that one a couple of times.

I was watching an Investigation Discovery show about a murder that took place in Ottawa, and when they were interviewing the police department and key people involved in the case ... I thought they all sounded funny. I've officially been away from home long enough that I think *they* have an accent! Been hearing too much Wisconsin/Minnesota accents in the last 9 months, clearly.

I was back in Canada for a couple of weeks recently. One night I attended a pig roast and was floored at the Canadian accents. I'd known these people for decades and had never noticed them before!

lol. Yeah, I find that too. Whenever I am around British accents I lapse back into that, as well, so I probably do the same with the Canadian accent.
