We spent the morning at a memorial service at Purple Heart Park... remembering and honoring those that put it all on the line.

No beer, no sandwich... just lots of sun beating down as we stood there holding our flags.

Amen Hank. There was a guy I only met for a brief second when I was 6 years old and we were not real close friends of the family, but I never forget the call to my house, when my grandma told my mom he had been shot down in Nam.

first real memory of a loss in the war. He was from my mom's hometown, and I clearly remember visiting with his dad and him at their lake place in my Grandma's hometown, then my Mom crying when they called and told her had been shot down. I never forgot that for some reason and have visited his grave on several occasions thru the years, and quietly thanked him for his sacrifice. I took his etching from the wall in DC, even though I had meet him once and only as a child at about age 6.

I have been a member of the Patriot Guard Riders for many years. We get called to stand for our soldiers by their family many times over... some for the last time, which is always difficult.

I know who you guys are, and my hats off to you. I just wish I could arm everyone of you and the next time you encounter Phelps you could put those scumbags out their misery .

Keep up the good work. A big Memorial day salute!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rice Pudding can be nice.

Rice with biscuit gravy is always a treat.

but Rice with RedEye gravy is amazing.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
