Hi December & January remaining Filers,

Do you guys think it will be necessary to get a Senator involved with our K1"s to get our response from USCIS. VSC has totally quit. Did they go on vacation? It is unfair for them to approve filers that filed after us. We are people to. What are the steps to get a Senator involved?

01/09/2012 - Sent to TSC

01/10/2012 - Received by TSC, transferred to VSC

01/13/2012 - check cleared bank and email from USCIS

01/17/2012 - NOA from VSC Receipt # notice no case #

Topic has been moved from Site Discussion to K-1 Visa Process & Procedures as it is not related to a discussion about a site issue and does relate to a discussion about the K-1 Visa process, so is more appropriate in this forum.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Besides an outlier or two, most approved have been Jan 10 and prior (sure, i know, i am Jan 12)... Agreed they have moved slow, but they have 1000's of other petitions besides 129F as well, and likely shifted resources to keep up on those. I am hoping the approval rate will pick up again after the holiday. At this point, I just want my 5 month time without incident.

The others ARE correct that you are within the processing times, but if you hit your 5th month mark and you still have not heard anything (RFE or approval), then you can contact your Senator. I emailed mine and his aide sent me an email back asking me to fill out a form (I did this in anticipation and will not send the form until I'm sure that I will need his assistance). They also sent the form to my house. So you can simply call or email him/her.

El destino me ha unido a vos.

I feel your pain, but I'm just trying to wait patiently. Reading from others, it seems putting in a service request does nothing except for them to tell you to wait 60 more days. =/ I have no idea about Senators though. I really don't want to mess with all that unless the time frame is getting ridiculous. I'm over 5 months now and will probably try to stay calm until it gets around the 6 month mark. Hopefully it doesn't get that far, but you never know. >_< I would say just try to be patient for now.

I feel you! I'm really anxious too. But I will not think of expediting until I hit the 5 months mark. I check the mail everyday first thing in the morning (I'm currently visiting my fiancé in the US).

(I'm currently visiting my fiancé in the US).

How can it be????????? I have asked for a turist visa to visit my fiancée and the issue why they didnt approved my visa was because I had one K-1 in process and they said that you can not go through a POE with a turist visa if you have a K-1 in process, I try to find out if using my italian passport would be ok to go visit him but they said that was highly possible they send me back because of the K1...

I'm sorry, answersing to the topic... I feel your pain too, and I think that if a processing time takes 5 months there is something wrong with the process itself. They don´t have enough people working in visa cases if they have to take 5 months or more to check someone's background, and personally I feel that making two people wait so longs in some cases much more is inhuman, no one should wait this much to live their life like they want specially if it is in a good way like getting marry.

Sorry I was out off topic but I'm tired of waiting and I can not see my fiancee unless my visa is approved because he has no more vacation and Im not allow to go

I feel like they really went to vacation...hope they speed up..im sick of all the vaiting

Definitely. I really hope we see a flood of approvals these next 2 weeks to compensate for this slow down. I really don't see how they'll have any other option because if they don't speed this up, god help everyone who filed after us. I can't imagine how backlogged they'll become. There was a pretty significant number of petitions submitted in the Spring and the summer will only get worse for them.

1/13/12 - I-129F Petition Submitted to Dallas Lockbox

1/18/12 - Received at Vermont Service Center

1/20/12 - NOA1

1/24/12 - Touched

2/09/12 - Touched

8/02/12 - NOA2 (197 Days After Received at VSC)

8/14/12 - Received at NVC (Assigned Case Number)

8/16/12 - Departed from NVC

8/20/12 - Arrived in US Embassy Kiev

8/28/12 - Information Received from Embassy via mail

9/12/12 - Interview (Approved)

9/19/12 - Visa Received via Elin Ltd. (FedEx)

Yeah! VSC really needs to pick up the pace. I cant imagine what could be holding them up. I still wonder if there really is a method to this madness....

I feel like just the simple fact that we have waited 5 + months should be enough for approval. This is enough of a test for me; I feel like we shouldn't have to go through the interview process!

Everyday, several times a day (even on weekends, I know it's pointless) I check USCIS and Visa Journey. I am really beginning to hate Igor and his stupid list. I get a twitch each time I see "Initial Review."

Ugh.
