Decorating tips? Thoughts?

Am I a terrible person for dreaming of the day

my husband and I move into a nicer place?

He told me earlier today that lots of intelligent

live like this because they're too busy thinking

instead of staying organized.

I think he's full of it, but I could be wrong here

and just being materialistic and spoiled. Oh well.

You live there too right, so did I miss the picture that showed your space. This is not all hubby.

My spot was the pic with the laptop on the little desk next to the big

window. My clothes are hanging in the wardrobe. His spot is mostly

the settee and the table next to it. His stuff just gets scattered

around the room where ever he drops it, including food wrappers.

Shrug. I don't mind picking up after him but I do get a bit disturbed

when he just leaves his rubbish around. It's literally 6 steps from

his spot on the couch to the trash bin.

tip 1: pick a theme (nautical, nature, musical...etc) put some pics on the walls. if you've got 4-5 feet of white wall, it needs a pic.

tip 2: don't link total strangers on a message board to your FB.

Okay .. declutter, theme, add pics.

Not too bothered by FB visitors :thumbs:

Are you okay with what kind of person/life this has turned you into?

No!

But when I mention it, he says this is how intelligent people live.

It defies everything I was taught growing up that smart people

get into nice homes, have nice stuff, and all that jazz.

Then again, I've also been told I'm extremely materialistic, so

this could all be a character flaw.

Does he mind if you change everything if you do all the work?

If not then I'd just start throwing all the ####### out. Getting some new furniture in (even good thrift store stuff would be nice). New curtains, a bit of paint etc.

The space itself could be quite nice.
